Oldham U14s Crowned National Champions – Again!
 

Our Under-14 squad are national champions once more after a phenomenal weekend at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on 17th-18th May. 
 

This latest victory marks an incredible eighth national title for our club at U14 level.
 

Led by head coach Pam Hazelton, alongside assistants Jackie Reid and Lindsay Jones, and team manager Anthony Wood-Davis, the team delivered a series of outstanding performances throughout the tournament.
 

Their journey to the title began with wins on Saturday over AP Saints, Oaksway, Ryland and Five Ways.

Sunday brought tough opposition, but our girls showed their class with victories against Grangetown and Eagles, earning their place in the grand final.
 

Fate brought them face-to-face with our familiar rivals, Kingsway Power; who we had previously fallen short to at the NW regional qualifiers. This time, however, the story ended differently.
 

In a fiercely contested final, our U14's held their nerve and pulled away in the last quarter, sealing a 24–18 win to claim the championship.
 

Head Coach Pam Hazelton couldn’t hide her pride in the squad:
 

“The players were sensational. They trained like trojans in the lead-up to the finals and it really paid off. In that final quarter, their composure was incredible – they calmly worked the ball into the circle, and the shooters delivered under pressure. I couldn’t be prouder. They were amazing.”
