Mike Greenwood, a revered figure in the netball world, founded Oldham Netball Club in 1987 after retiring from the army. His vision and dedication transformed the club into a powerhouse of English netball.
Greenwood's coaching prowess extended beyond Oldham. He served as the head coach for Northern Thunder, initially for a season in the Super Cup. Taking full control in 2008, he orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, leading the team from the bottom of the table to a second-place finish in 2011.
In addition to his club commitments, Mike Greenwood had a successful tenure coaching England's U17 and U19 teams. However, his unwavering passion for Oldham Netball Club eventually led him to focus all his energies on nurturing and developing talent within the club.

Tracey Neville, who later became the head coach of the England national team, credits much of her success to Greenwood's mentorship. Similarly, Karen Greig and Jade Clarke, both of whom have had illustrious careers with the England national team, were products of Greenwood's meticulous coaching.
